Stefan's Owl from Oblivion
I loved the feeling of my eight-year-old human-flesh body, infused with veins of crystalline power. I am Syon, the Child of Time, the son of two teen super-beings who created me from the energy of their love. I used to travel the lanes of time, with my beautiful magic wand creating whatever I fancied. But no more. My parents’ folly has destroyed my beautiful playground, destroyed the fabric of time. Now I am the fourteen-year-old son of a mentally ill, alcoholic father—my body damaged by the ravages of his rages and the rats of my putrefying bedroom—I was purchased in a corrupt adoption. Yet, I hear someone at the edge of my senses calling to me, telling me that perhaps there is more to my life than being an abused gutter-child.
This book is a work of Literary Fiction (character driven with detailed characterization instead of plot driven) and is targeted toward ages 10 years old through adult. The book touches on magic, science fiction, and fantasy as well as touching on Mayan, Hindu, Norse, and Greek mysticism/mythology. It is expected to be about 730 pages of 9"x12" large form factor hardcover, lavishly illustrated throughout and printed on heavy paper with a heavy gold and blue foil imprinted cover done in the style of an old fairy-tale book. The quality will be such that it will endure being handed down for many generations. The writing contains strong emotional content as well as numerous philosophical musings by children trying to understand the world. The book is designed for the thoughtful, sensitive child and as such is not an action-oriented romp. Adults will enjoy remembering the time in their life when they too used to dream about the wonderful ways the world could be... a time when every day was an adventure.
Stefan's Owl from Oblivion is expected to be released in the 2022-2023 time frame.

Galley 4 marks the start of the book project being changed from an 8"x10" book to the larger 9"x12" format. It will be a truly immersive experience. The book is not designed to be held and read while waiting in line but laid on a table or a lap in a quiet room, where the intensive writing can be understood. The print of the book is also bigger, allowing a grandparent to read, share, and explain this book to their grandchildren. I mention grandparents because they were the biggest readers of my previous books. They liked a book which would keep their older tween grandchild riveted, yet complex enough to where they could have an active role with the child. Some grandparents reported that while reading to their younger grandchildren that the older teens were "captured" by the story and came and sat down to listen also. Most pages contain illustrations and the large print allows older eyes to easily read the text and young to eyes to easily follow along. The luxurious quality book, lavishly illustrated and presented in large format, allows the grandparent to give that unique gift that will last for generations.
